Wanna Be a Baller?

As a child, did you ever dream of becoming a professional basketball player? Did you ever count down five … four … three … two … one in your driveway and pretend to launch a game winning shot as an imaginary crowd went wild? Have you ever regretted a decision that you made while playing basketball that prevented your dream from becoming a reality?

If the answer yes, the new basketball reality show America’s Top Baller may be the break you so desperately need, as former American Idol producers scour the country looking for the best male and female basketball talent. The new basketball reality show will initially choose 50 players and test their skills against the nation’s best unknown talent. However, only 30 players will survive the initial cut.

The basketball reality show is the brainchild of former Miami Heat and Sacramento King Duane Causwell, which came about for the professional athlete as a result of many people wanting to

The Effects of Online Basketball Forums on NBA Coach Hiring and Firing

Online basketball discussion boards may control the future of an NBA coach that some NBA owners would probably like to admit. Online basketball forums are probably something NBA owners would probably not admit they like to read as often as they actually read these online basketball forums. If the fan base of a particular team is posting continuously about how a coach needs to be fired in an online basketball setting a proactive NBA owner can’t help but notice such postings in an online basketball forum because he doesn’t want to lose the trust of the people who are buying tickets.

Years ago online basketball forums and magazines were pretty much at a consensus about how John Calipari would be the next great thing as an NBA coach. These same online basketball publications argued that Calipari was just too big of a fish to remain as head basketball coach at the University of Massachusetts. These same online basketball sources were some of the very measuring

Manu Ginobili Bat: Ginobili a.ka. Bat Man!

There was news from the San Antonio Spurs Vs Sacramento Kings game, and it had nothing to do with the scores. On the night of October 31st, a bat made its way to the arena and started flying around.

Being an uncommon occurrence, the game was paused for a moment until the court was cleared. And sure enough it was, and the game resumed. But with time the persistent critter made its way back to the arena and started getting everyone’s attention with its low flights.

Spread some holiday love with this Free Nike giftcard.

Of course not everyone looks forward to holding or even getting close to a bat, and that’s why no one was willing to stop it. That is except Manu Ginobili. He positioned himself in the path of the bat and as it approached, he struck it with dead accuracy, which made it fall to the floor without life.

Such a great feat did deserve applauding, something the crowd, the coaches and even the players from the opposing team

June 24, 1998: Drafted 7th overall by Sacramento Kings in 1998 NBA Draft. Following his suspension by the University of Florida, Williams decided to make himself eligible for the NBA Draft. He was the seventh overall selection in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings. In his rookie year, the Kings, with a roster that included newcomers Williams, Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, and Peja Stojaković, turned into a playoff contender. That year, Williams’ number 55 jersey was among the top five sellers of all NBA players. On July 20, 2000, Williams was suspended for the first five games of the 200001 NBA season for failure to comply with his treatment obligations under the NBA’s anti-drug program. The NBA does not release details of violations of the anti-drug program.

13. Chicago Cubs outfielder Jose Cardenal missed a game in 1974 because his eyelid was “stuck open,” which prevented him from blinking. He eventually overcame this ailment, it didn’t help his reputation as a player who liked to use suspicious injuries to get out of games; two seasons earlier he had missed a game because crickets in his hotel room had kept him up all night, leaving him exhausted.
12. Atlanta Braves Pitcher Tom Glavine suffered from food poisoning during the 1992 season; his symptoms were so bad that he broke a rib while vomiting.
11. Atlanta Braves first baseman Ryan Klesko missed several games in 1999 after straining his back while picking up his lunch tray.

Ebasketballdrills Review

If you are a basketball coach or even a parent or player then this review is one you will want to read.

Below I have put together a review of a coaching membership site eBasketBallDrills, which will help you take your coaching skills to the next level. If you are a basketball coach and have been struggling with ideas on how to get the most out of your players then its time to rethink what you are doing. There is a famous saying the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. This holds especially true if your practices are stale, if there is no enthusiasm, if there is no incentive to get better. What you have is a group of unmotivated, out of shape players that have no real direction. The results are obvious, you lose.

If coaching is important to you and not just a way to pass the time then its time to do something about it. By taking the initiative and becoming more

NBA Tickets – Lottery Mock Draft

A lot of underclassmen have declared for the NBA Draft, so I figured it was as good a time as any to do another mock draft for the lottery.  The draft order was determined by record.  (Note: This article was written on April 28th.)

New Jersey Nets – John Wall, Point Guard, Kentucky: Wall will be the top pick unless Utah or New Orleans wins the lottery; then the pick will either be moved or Evan Turner will go number one.  One might be able to add Minnesota to that group as well.  The Nets have Devin Harris, but he’s not better than Wall and definitely won’t sell as many <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/nba-tickets/”>NBA tickets</a>.  Drafting Wall would allow the team to ship Harris for another asset and build the roster around Wall and Brook Lopez, which is a very nice start.

Minnesota Timberwolves – Evan Turner, Shooting Guard, Ohio

NBA: Charlotte Bobcats History

The Charlotte Bobcats are a new addition to the National Basketball Association as of 2004. The Bobcats came to Charlotte after another fairly recent expansion team, the Charlotte Hornets, relocated to New Orleans.

The decision for the Hornets to relocate away from Charlotte was an interesting one in the minds of many. North Carolina is known for its love of basketball and many saw the state as a place that should have a basketball team.

The Bobcats have quickly seen success in the NBA. Despite the fact that they had to start with a clean slate, using an expansion draft to field a team, the Bobcats have already managed to make the playoffs. Their playoff run this year was largely led by someone that  joined the team in its conception, Gerald Wallace.

Gerald Wallace was picked up by the Bobcats in their expansion draft as a player from the Sacramento Kings. Wallace was then a young athlete, but has since developed into a great defender and
